Services * HOME DELIVERED MEALS Nutritious meals are available to frail, home-bound individuals who
are over the age of 60 and have no familial support and no access to foods. The meals are delivered on a weekly
basis. The frozen meals are conveniently boxed when delivered and can be reheated in a microwave or toaster oven. This program
provides the security of at least one nutritionally balanced meal per day.
*WELLNESS CENTERS
Vital Aging operates three wellness centers located
in Kingstree, Hemingway and Greeleyville. Transportation is provided on a daily basis to and from the centers. Senior citizens
who attend our centers have access to socialization, a hot meal, exercise and various stimulating activities such as shopping,
bowling, bingo, crafts, and more. The activities are designed to stimulate or develop academic, social and/or self help skills.
The groups meet from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
*FOSTER GRANDPARENT PROGRAM
The Foster Grandparent Program provides an opportunity for low income senior citizens
55 or older to volunteer their time mentoring and tutoring children while receiving a tax-free stipend. These seniors volunteer
in several Williamsburg County schools. Their mission is to enhance the academic and social performance of tomorrow's generation,
while providing themselves with a renewed sense of vitality. *HOME LIVING SUPPORT Home Living Support consists of light housekeeping services that are provided on a limited basis
to help individuals over the age of 60 maintain independence in their home.
*I-CARE/IR & A Assistance with Medicare
and Medicaid Part D is available. Information, referral and assistance is also available to ensure all resources are reached
